Lack of Connection
People don’t know where to find help…
- They go from church to church, and agency to agency.
- Often creating redundancies in services.
- Churches are stretched financially and administratively.
Because one church…just…can’t…do it all.
ThE Solution
The Church has a unique calling from God to serve people in need. Love INC exists to help the church live out that calling by:
- Providing a central location for people in need to seek help.
- Connecting people with local churches.
We call this central location the Love INC Clearinghouse.
Empowered Help
Love INC Clearinghouse allows the church and volunteers to…
- Serve using their talents and abilities.
- Offer manageable and responsible crisis help.
- Provide hand-ups (instead of hand-outs).
Addressing the root issue and asking the person in need to join in the process.

We use the Apostles’ Creed as our statement of faith, and identify the Old and New Testament, commonly known as the Bible, as Holy Scripture.
Our history
Virgil Gulker Founded Love INC in 1977. He believed the church was God’s poverty alleviation solution.
Now… there are 122 affiliates,
5,495 participating churches
and 29,578 church volunteers!*

A Love Story:
When the management of a local manufactured home community referred Her to a Love INC affiliate, they were very concerned…
She was facing eviction unless she got help with all the yard work. Living alone on Social Security, and with failing health, she didn’t know where to turn. Love INC connected her with a partner church, and the next Saturday the pastor and volunteers spent the day with her, trimming bushes, weeding, and cleaning up debris. She wrote to Love INC to express thanks for connecting her with the church and the people who served her:
“Your organization is truly a real blessing for the elderly and low income members of the community. Without their help, generosity and charity, I don’t know what I would have done… I can’t tell you how grateful I am to everyone who has helped me with this situation. Thank you from the bottom of my heart and God bless you all.”
So many others like her are faced with needs that seem insurmountable to them. Until God’s people step in and exhibit the love of Christ by sharing their gifts and lightening the burdens of their neighbors.
